Series 7 of record group 73-50 consists of divisional field reports for water use applications submitted to the Fisheries Division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for 1967. Contains a sampling of field reports prepared by the Division's fish biologists assessing the effects that new or increased waste-water discharges will have on aquatic wildlife, vegetation, and human use. The reports were forwarded to the Water Resources Commission where they were studied, along with the findings of other agencies, before approving or rejecting the application for releasing liquid wastes into state water bodies. Also includes transcripts of hearings and conferences held for the purpose of getting municipalities to reduce or improve the effluents they release into streams.
